Stages

Before diving into your spa treatment, make an appointment with your GP.

Depending on your state of health and your symptoms, your doctor will identify the specific needs that could benefit from a spa treatment approach. Each spa has unique characteristics that make it particularly beneficial for certain conditions.

The Cambo-les-Bains thermal baths specialize in the treatment of rheumatic and respiratory disorders.

Once the assessments have been carried out and the Cambo-les-Bains spa selected, your doctor will draw up a specific medical prescription for the Assurance Maladie.

Once your doctor has filled in the medical prescription, complete the relevant sections, in particular the “Resources” section, to check your entitlement to travel and accommodation allowances.

Then send this form to your usual health insurance fund for approval.

What you need to know

  • You should consult your doctor at the latest in the quarter preceding your cure.
  • Check your AMELI account, as the CPAM often sends the claim form electronically. In the event of refusal, the deposit will be reimbursed upon presentation of proof.
  • You must receive a return receipt within 1 month.

Make an appointment with the spa doctor before your arrival: The list of spa doctors here

Gather the documents you need to present on site:

  • Your health insurance card,
  • Sections 1 and 2 of your care package,
  • Your deposit receipt,
  • A letter from your attending physician,
  • Your X-rays and/or latest blood tests.

Check your belongings

  • Cap and non-slip bathing sandals,
  • Bathing suit,
  • Your spa bag (if you’re already taking the waters)

Bathrobes and towels are provided during your spa treatment.

Your day at the spa

Treatments take place from Monday to Saturday, including public holidays (no treatments on Sundays).

Depending on your therapeutic orientation, they last between 1 and 2 hours.

The treatment schedule is drawn up for you in advance, based on the spa doctor’s prescription.
